Meet Shannon

I believe that a therapist who meets you with compassion, empathy, and honesty is essential for a strong therapeutic connection.
— Shannon Blake, Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern

What was your path to becoming a mental health therapist?
As a member of the LGBTQ+ community and neurodivergent, I know how hard it can be to find a therapist who truly understands. I've always been an advocate for underserved communities and believe that a therapist who meets you with compassion, empathy, and honesty is essential for a strong therapeutic connection. This mindset has shaped my approach to therapy and has been empowering for my clients. Before becoming a therapist, I spent five years as a teacher, where I learned the importance of recognizing each individual's unique path to growth. Whether in education or therapy, my goal has always been to be someone others can rely on in challenging times.

What should someone know about working with you?
Therapy is rooted in building rapport and understanding, which develops over time. I take the time to truly get to know my clients as individuals so we can collaborate on their personal growth. I approach every session with an open, nonjudgmental mindset, creating a space where clients feel safe, supported, and heard.
