Our Internship Programs

Clinical Internship Program

At Positive Behavioral Solutions we offer internship opportunities to Graduate Interns working toward their Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Social Work. Our Clinical Interns have the opportunity to work directly with clients by offering FREE Counseling services!

Bachelor & Master-Level
Internship Program

At Positive Behavioral Solutions, we offer internship opportunities to Bachelor and Master-level students interested in learning and gaining more experience in the mental and behavioral health field!

  • The Clinical Internship offers Master-level students to earn their internship hours toward their degree.

    We accept Graduate Interns pursuing their degree in:

    • Clinical Mental Health Counseling

    • Social Work

  • Clinical Interns offer 12 free counseling sessions to children, teens, and families!

    With guidance from a supervisor, the Clinical Intern works with clients and their families to understand their needs and provide helpful therapy techniques to manage or reduce mental health challenges.

  • Services are available either at our Main Office in Altamonte Springs and Telehealth. However, we can work with your school’s requirements.

    Duties:

    • Direct Hours:

      • Provide 12-free counseling sessions.

      • Diagnosing and Treatment Planning with supervision of a Licensed Therapist.

    • Non-Direct Hours:

      • Answering Phone Calls

      • Checking Insurance Eligibility

      • Shadowing therapy and assessment sessions.

      • Attending Treatment Plan, Assessment, and Progress Note training

      • Attending agency supervision meetings

      • Attending weekly supervision with a Site Supervisor

      • All other tasks as assigned

  • At PBS, we offer a hybrid clinical internship that allows interns to provide in office and Telehealth services.

    Clinical interns are expected to be on-site based on the schedule agreed upon with their supervisor.

Our Clinical Internship

Our Clinical Internship program is for students working toward a graduate degree in mental health fields,
such as Clinical Mental Health Counseling or Social Work.

Our Bachelor & Master-Level Internships

Our Bachelor & Master-Level Internship program is for students working toward an undergraduate or generalist degree in the mental health field.

  • This program is a great opportunity for anyone interested in learning more about or starting a career in mental or behavioral health! You’ll gain real-world experience by working in a community-based mental health agency.

    Throughout the program, you’ll build important skills needed to work in this field, including:

    • Handling administration tasks like answering phones and calling clients to confirm services

    • Checking client and insurance eligibility

    • Helping develop and lead Psychosocial Rehabilitation (PSR) support groups

    • Assisting the PSR Coordinator with program-related duties

    • Helping with community events as needed.

    And much more! It’s a hands-on way to learn while making a difference in the community.

  • The PSR Internship Program typically lasts approximately 4 months, however, we can work with any school requirements.

    • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree

    • Pursuing a Master’s degree

    • Passion or interest in learning more about a career in the mental or behavioral health field.

  • Bachelor and Master-level interns are expected to be on-site 100% of the time.
