Meet Michelle

What was your path to becoming a mental health therapist?
Growing up as a first-generation immigrant in the U.S. presented its challenges. Moving to the U.S. during middle school, I faced the difficulties of adjusting to a new culture and learning a new language. This experience sparked my passion for helping families navigate life transitions and overcome various challenges.

Several months before graduating high school, I was diagnosed with a chronic illness that profoundly impacted my life, my career path, and my family. However, this experience also allowed me to develop a deep sense of empathy and understanding for others facing difficult transitions. It has shaped my approach as a therapist, as I now draw from my own experiences to support those going through similar challenges. Additionally, this journey led me to expand my own family through the adoption of my son, an experience that has further deepened my commitment to helping others heal and grow.

What should someone know about working with you?
I am open, transparent and supportive in therapy as well as in my personal life.
