Meet Matisyn

What was your path to pursuing the mental health field?
My path to pursuing the mental health field started when my grandfather was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s when I was nine years old. I didn’t understand what happened to the happy man who no longer remembered my name. It strengthened when I entered high school and realized the counselor there was not going to help me as I struggled with stress and anxiety. I strove to become someone that people could come to for help. I seek to provide the most beneficial care I can so that no one will be in the same situation I was in, where I felt alone.

What should someone know about working with you?
I’m a very hard worker, and I aim to provide the best care I possibly can to clients. I’m not afraid to ask questions and will probably ask a thousand! I joke around a lot, and I like to make people smile. I will also be there for support or for any reason that a client/peer may need.
