Our In-School Therapy Solution
-
Positive Behavioral Solutions partners with Orange County and Osceola County Public Schools through a collaborative partnership with SEDNET.
This collaborative partnership allows our Mental Health Therapists to see clients at their schools during school hours!
-
The collaborative partnership is with all Orange and Osceola County Public Schools (K-12).
Our Mental Health Therapists come directly to your child, adolescent, or teen's Elementary, Middle, or High School.
-
Our Mental Health Therapists are encouraged to work with you, the caregiver, in addition to the school Counselor or Safe Coordinator, teachers, and staff to coordinate care, communicate, and increase the well-being of your child, adolescent, or teen!
-
Our Mental Health Therapists must see your child, adolescent, or teen at the school during school hours. However, the Therapist may conduct Telehealth, In-Home, or Community sessions after school hours, if needed, for family/caregiver sessions.
In addition, the Therapist may conduct Telehealth, In-Home, or Community sessions during the school's holiday breaks.
-
Through the collaborative partnership, it is required that a child, adolescent, or teen must present mental or behavioral health concerns at school that interferes with their academic, behavioral, or mental performance at school.
Examples Include:
Attention and Hyperactive difficulties in classroom settings.
Attention, Hyperactive, or Anxious symptoms that result in low grades or performance.
Behavioral concerns that result in frequent suspensions or detention.
Other
You child's school Counselor or Safe Coordinator can assist in determining if your child qualifies.
-
Your child, adolescent, or teens' school Counselor or Safe Coordinator must submit a referral to Positive Behavioral Solutions.
Once the referral is submitted, PBS's Care Coordination team will process the referral and assign you and your family to an Assessor to have an Intake Assessment completed.
After Intake, your child, adolescent, or teen will be assigned to a Therapist who services the school.
The Therapist will contact the school's Counselor or Safe Coordinator to set up services, and contact you to confirm services.
