Helping People Achieve Positive Outcomes

Mental Health Therapist

Gabriella began her journey as a therapist by graduating from the University of Central Florida with a bachelor's degree in Clinical Psychology. She completed her Master of Social Work at the University of Central Florida. During her graduate program, Gabriella studied a wide variety of therapeutic interventions, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Gestalt Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy. She sharpened those skills while working as a student intern.

Gabriella educates clients and caregivers about the importance of mindfulness and healthy coping skills through DBT. Gabriella also accepts MATCH clients to help manage conduct disorders, depression, anxiety, and trauma-related symptoms. She has empowered young children, teens, adults, and families to reach their treatment goals.

Meet Gabriella

What was your path to becoming a mental health therapist?
At just 14 years old, I embarked on my journey to become a mental health therapist. I was inspired by my mother’s passion for helping others as an elementary school counselor. Growing up, I witnessed firsthand the profound impact she had on her clients, fostering resilience and healing in their lives. Her empathy and dedication ignited a spark in me; I knew I wanted to follow in her footsteps. I began taking psychology classes in high school and I loved every minute of it. My passion only grew as I began studying clinical psychology and social work in college. As I continue to navigate this path, I am driven by a commitment to support others on their journeys toward wellness, just as my mom did.

What should someone know about working with you?
As a therapist, I emphasize the importance of active participation and open communication with my clients. Most sessions focus on mindfulness and distress tolerance, drawing from the Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) model. I often assign homework to encourage practice between sessions. I encourage both caregivers and clients to view me as a coach, providing them with tools to manage symptoms throughout the week. I utilize unconditional positive regard and active listening to create a safe and supportive environment for my clients.
