Helping People Achieve Positive Outcomes

Faraz Rahman, MSW
Registered Clinical Social Work Intern

Mental Health Therapist

Faraz graduated from the University of Central Florida, earning a Bachelor of Science in Clinical Psychology and a Master of Social Work degree by August 2025. While studying to earn his degrees, Faraz interned at No Limit Counseling and Education in Sanford and at Orlando Health, where he worked with the REACH team, providing community resources to discharged patients, and worked a full-time position with Orlando Health's Care Management team at the Downtown Orlando ORMC campus after earning his MSW degree. As an Asian American male, Faraz is passionate about working with underrepresented communities such as POC, male populations, the LGBTQ+ community, and supports clients working through depression, anxiety, ADHD, cultural trauma, and life transitions.

I believe that by listening to my clients and giving them my full, undivided attention, I’m able to offer them a different perspective and help them find solutions to their problems.

Meet Faraz

What led you to become a mental health therapist?
I grew up in a small town in New Jersey as one of the only Muslim Americans in my school, directly after the events of 9/11. Many of the kids I went to school with had friends, family, or loved ones involved in the tragedy, which often made me into a scapegoat for their anger and frustrations. As I grew older, I longed for a desire to feel heard and be understood, however, since mental health was a taboo subject in my culture and there was very little representation of Muslims and Asian American therapists, I decided to take responsibility and become a therapist myself for others who looked like me and shared similar experiences but had no safe spaces to be able to let their emotions out.

What should someone know about working with you?
During therapy sessions, I allow my clients to be the experts in the room and to drive the conversations by sharing what is on their minds. I believe that by listening to my clients and giving them my full, undivided attention, I’m able to offer them a different perspective and help them find solutions to their problems.
