Helping People Achieve Positive Outcomes

Debbie Adcock, M.A.
Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern

Mental Health Therapist

Debbie started her journey in the mental health field when she graduated college and became a case manager who worked with individuals with schizophrenia. She continued her education receiving my Masters in Counseling in 1994.  Since then, she has worked in many roles, from community case manager, school counselor, admissions counselor, and mental health therapist. While raising her 4 sons, she had to find jobs that worked with their life. Now that they are grown, she can find jobs that work with herlife! Being a mental health therapist is her favorite of all her jobs.

I strive to make others feel comfortable and safe in their session!

Meet Debbie

What was your path to becoming a mental health therapist?
When I started college, I had no idea what I wanted to study. I took a lot of different classes, but when I took Intro to Psychology, I was hooked. I had always been curious about human behavior, how we react to difficult situations, and why people made certain choices but I didn't realize I could make it a career. I also realized that I was the one all my friends came to to talk out their problems. I've always been a helper and drawn to those who are having a challenging time. It just seemed like a natural fit for me and I can truly say I love what I do.

What should someone know about working with you?
I am very easy to talk to and strive to make others feel comfortable and safe in their session. I'm not judgmental so I hope others don't hesitate to share their struggles and challenges. There aren't too many things I haven't seen, heard, or experienced, so never be afraid to share.
