Helping People Achieve Positive Outcomes
Christina McPherson, M.S.
Master-Level Clinician Under Supervision
Mental Health Specialist
My name is Christina "Chris" McPherson. I attended Keiser University and obtained a Master's Degree in 2014. I have been working with children and families in several capacities since 2014. My career experience consists of working in case management, program management, assessment and counseling. All of my positions had a common thread; the people I was guiding had limited or no access to supportive resources. I knew something needed to change.
I began working as a mental health specialist in 2017. I am also a certified Life, Parenting & Relationship Coach. I am always looking for new ways to practice in the mental health field, I have a passion for helping people facilitate self-growth and improvement. Working with PBS has allowed me the opportunity to become certified in MATCH-ADTC as well as Adoption Competency.
Meet Chris
What was your path to becoming a mental health therapist?
As a member of the LGBTQIA community, I've noticed in a lot of non-typical spaces folks are looking for mental health support but haven't found practitioners who "get it.” I love to work with these folks who specialize in special populations not otherwise represented! Within my care, you can feel safe knowing that you are valid and accepted NO MATTER WHAT! I work with folks from all types of backgrounds, lifestyles, relationship dynamics, etc. and I would love to become a part of your success story as well!
What should someone know about working with you?
I teach skills many never learned early on which created deficits throughout life. These skills are tailored to your specific situation and what works for YOU. Through working together, clients have gained clarity and motivation, broken through obstacles they have been struggling with, and developed skills to help them meet their goals in all areas of their lives.
I take great pride in the progress and success of my clients and look forward to helping you. Let me help you learn and develop better ways to handle the issues that are standing in the way of your goals. Get in touch today to see what you can accomplish with some support!
