I found that MATCH is a good translation of the Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) model for a younger demographic. It can be hard to translate programs like CBT for a younger demographic that are in a different time of their lives and are still developing and learning about themselves and the world around them. MATCH can recognize this limitation of CBT and create a treatment plan that helps filter the core tenets of CBT into something that works well with this age range. More importantly, it recognizes the strength of having parental involvement to help foster growth and support with the young client(s).

  • Zev Krausman

    Registered Mental Health Intern

Mental Health Therapist | Intake Assessor

My favorite part about MATCH is being able to adapt to each individual client's needs while continuing to provide evidence-based interventions. I have implemented each of the four different protocols with the clients I work with, but the protocols I use most often are Depression and Conduct. I have seen parents completely transform their relationship with their children by using the behavioral interventions provided by MATCH and I have seen clients make incredible progress towards managing fears and self-defeating thoughts. MATCH is a very goal-driven model, so clients and parents can expect to work towards solving their top problems in every session!

  • Ashley Dean, M.S.

    Registered Mental Health Intern

    Mental Health Therapist

I specialize in working with teens and adults with anxiety, trauma, stress, ADHD, and depression. I am a MATCH-ADTC certified counselor. I enjoy using MATCH because there are helpful tools to assist families with their needs. The therapeutic modules contained in MATCH have helped a few of my clients in the program. The modules help parents be engaged in their children's mental health and understand different techniques to assist them in the home.

Life struggles can cause us to lose ourselves in our journeys. When that happens navigating the world around us can become pretty overwhelming. There is increasing evidence to suggest that unresolved issues can lead to future problems such as anxiety, depression, substance use, family conflict, chronic illness and much more.

I believe that every individual is capable of change. My goal is to empower clients to gain a better understanding of themselves, their behaviors and the world around them and help them find healing, growth, and actualization.

I have become especially fond of working with children, teens and young adults. Helping shape young minds and become productive adults is a fantastic and rewarding experience.

I enjoy utilizing Match program because it is a great approach that helps children and caregivers identify, understand their difficulties, and make changes in a structured and fun way.

Are you looking for an effective, short-term solution for your teen's depression and/or anxiety? Using the MATCH-ADTC program, I specialize in teens ages 15-18 with anxiety or depression. The program is typically 16-20 sessions, has proven to be effective, and results are long lasting for those teens who are willing to engage in the process. If you are interested, contact me for more information.

  • Robbie Sarkodee, MSW

    Registered Clinical Social Worker Intern

    Mental Health Therapist

My passion is to help children and adolescents navigate the challenges they face. I like using MATCH-ADTC model because it addresses a wide range of emotional and behavioral issues that children experience. The model is unique because it’s very flexible, encourages parental involvement, and integrates well with other models like TF-CBT which I am trained in as well. Besides working with the children, parents are guided through discussions and tailor-made handouts to help them support their children on their treatment journey. I have seen my parents who once upon a time will say “fix my child," change that orientation, and are full of enthusiasm to play their part to help their children succeed.
